Community Mobilization Model (2002)

Recreation Association
Responsibility for the development of a national
community mobilization model to assist in the prevention
of abuse and harassment of youth, specifically targeted
to the recreation environment. Project entailed
research of all existing materials around prevention of
abuse and harassment; primary research with existing
community groups and stakeholders; establishment of, and
ongoing liaison with, a national Reference Group; and
ultimately the creative writing and development of a 100
page ‘user friendly’ manual (with templates and Best
Practices).
‘Beyond Boards’ Value-added Wood Contest (1996-1997)
CLIENT: Forest Renewal BC
Concept design and development of a program to address
FRBC’s need to not only promote the value-added wood
processing sector, but also develop the
marketing/business management skills of ‘grass roots’
manufacturers. In cooperation with Regional Steering
Committees a value-added wood contest was established -
'Beyond Boards'. Scope of responsibility involved
full project management including project identity;
marketing for all contest entries; coordination of seven
Regional Receiving Centres; community outreach;
coordination of product adjudication and judging;
advertising and promotion; event management for 8 Awards
Programs; bid processing for sub-contractors; and full
financial management.

Young Entrepreneurs Conference (8) (1991)
YouBET
(1995-1996)
CLIENT: Ministry of Small Business, Tourism & Culture
Responsible for developing the concept and subsequently
delivering eight province-wide conferences directed to
the development of youth and business. This highly
successful project established the foundation with the
Ministry of Small Business, Tourism and Culture for the
subsequent YouBET! program. Continued project
involvement included
YouBET Vancouver Island Project Manager and Mentorship
Coordinator (1996) and YouBET provincial trainer (1995). |
