Kinsol Trestle Restoration Project
CLIENT: Cowichan Valley Regional District
(2005)
A management consulting
study that identified the economic impacts of the
historic Kinsol Trestle and further developed a business
plan to support the restoration initiative. As a member
of the Grant Thornton team, specific responsibility
included the development of the marketing, fundraising
and communications planning for a $3 million dollar
capital campaign.
Sport and Recreation Economy Research Report

Legacies & BC Olympic Secretariat (2004)
A
comprehensive
research report which looked at defining and assessing
the sport and recreation sector and the implications to
the provincial and national economy. The
development of the report was based on secondary
analysis of research previously conducted relative to
the sport and recreation sector; primary research
through personal interviews with over 30 provincial and
national stakeholders; secondary research of existing
sport and recreation-related research materials; and,
secondary research of international models of the sport
and/or recreation economy or sport impact assessments.
Canadian
Transportation Act Review (2002)
CLIENT: Ministry of Transportation and Highways
Project support for a
consultative process to develop a provincial submission
to the Federal Government around revisions to the
national Canadian Transportation Act.
Responsibilities included primary and secondary research
with a diverse range of senior transportation industry
stakeholders; facilitating group sessions and presenting
outcomes/recommendations for report inclusion.
Clinical Academic
Services Contract Development (2001)
CLIENT: Children’s & Women’s Health Care Centre
Primary and secondary
research of physicians working in 7 departments with
Specialized Women’s Health to facilitate negotiation of
a Clinical Academic Service Contracts (CASC) - a
contractual arrangement with the Ministry of Health
allowing physicians to be recognized for their research,
academic and administrative activities as opposed to the
traditional ‘fee for service’ billing. Project
responsibility included surveying of all physicians to
develop a time/study analysis; research of comparable
specialized medical facilities across Canada to obtain
comparator information regarding both time/study and
remuneration; preparation of draft contract. |
